So BOTH year’s lineups are trucks you’ll be happy with. That said, the new 2023 Super Duty lineup has had its big reveal, and Ford has tweaked the line a little bit, so we’ll run down the changes so you can decide if you’re happy with your 2022 Super Duty, or if you want to upgrade to a 2023. Either way, at D’Orazio Ford, we’re happy to work with you while you explore your options, test drive both, and pick your favorite.
How’s it Look?
Ford has unveiled a tougher look for the 2023 Super Duty line, and tweaked some of the exterior features. The 2023 lineup has seven different grille designs, depending on the trim level or available appearance package you choose. One of the first things that caught our eye was the new C-shaped lighting elements, which you can choose to get fitted with LED headlights too. New long side vents on the cab are designed to improve the truck’s aerodynamics. And the 2023 trucks come with new available design packages so you can switch up rim, trim and paint combos.
How’s the technology?
In a word, impressive! You get all kinds of new tech upgrades with the 2023 Super Duty trucks, for ease of use, comfort and convenience. The 2023 Ford Super Duty is the FIRST pickup in the US with embedded 5G. That means you get faster Wi-Fi, faster mapping, and the all-new Trailer Navigation takes into account your trailer size and recommends the best real-time drive route for you. And get this: the Ford Powerup software updates while you drive, so no pause-to-play. A fan favorite is the brand new full-color head-up display, so your eyes can stay on the road while you get all the info you need right in front of you.
New driver assist tech is available so you’re towing safer and smarter than ever. That includes Onboard Scales with Smart Hitch, 360-degree Trailer Camera System, Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, Trailer Navigation to help plot your route, and the industry’s first Tailgate Down Camera and Tailgate Down Reverse Sensing System. Bottom line: Ford has designed these new Super Duty trucks to leave zero blind spots, even when towing the longest trailers.
New safety and security features include Intelligent adaptive cruise control, trailer theft alert, front and rear brake assist, directional sensing system, and Fleet Start Inhibit so you control when your fleet trucks can be operated.
How’s it Haul?
Better than ever! The 2023 Super Duty lineup gives you the most towing, the most payload, the most torque and the most horsepower of any heavy-duty full sized truck. With the 2023’s you get four engine choices- the broadest range of engines in its class! Choose from the standard 6.8L V8 gas engine, the 7.3L V8 with improved intake and tuning for the best gas horsepower in class, the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel V8, and the new high-output 6.7L Power Stroke V8 diesel with turbo, that gives you the best horsepower and torque in class.
Every new Super Duty comes with a 10-speed TorqShift ® automatic transmission. And every chassis cab model comes with a power take off connection so you can run extra equipment.
Then there’s the brand new for 2023 Ford Pro ™ Upfit Integration System. That gives you access to your truck’s electrical systems, so you can upfit more equipment- then monitor and control it from your in-cabin digital display. It’s now easier than ever to power your work equipment from the truck, and you get all kinds of customization options and safety interlocks.
