2024 Ford Ranger

You know how when you get really excited about something, it’s all you want to talk about?  You ask questions, you speculate, you come up with theories?  Well that’s how we feel about the new 2024 Ford Ranger, which MAY come out as early as May 2023!

We’ve culled the pros and seen what they’re saying about the 2024 Ranger model, and compiled it here for you so you can join in the fun:

Gear Patrol’s Tyler Duffy says he’s very excited about the 2024 Ranger because it’s predicted to be all-new. Gear Patrol also reports that the Ranger 6G online forum seems to have gotten their hands on a dealer bulletin that appears to have 2024 Ranger orders slated to start in late May, with production starting in August. But time will tell.

Ford CEO Jim Farley has confirmed that the new Ranger and Ranger Raptor are indeed hitting showrooms this year, though Ford is keeping mum on exactly when they’ll arrive and be available for purchase in the U.S.   Although, as Gear Patrol points out, Ford teased us all by revealing their global model of the 2024 Ford Ranger first.  

So, a little history:  When Ford first unveiled the global Ranger in late 2021, it turned out the U.S. version looked identical that year.  So industry experts are predicting that what Ford already revealed to be the global 2024 Ranger already could also end up being strikingly similar to the 2024 U.S. model of the popular truck.

Some great news for Ford Ranger fans:  When Ford brought the Ranger back to America a few years ago, they did NOT bring the high-performance Ranger Raptor model to the U.S. market.  However, Ford’s Farley has also confirmed the Ranger Raptor will indeed be coming to America this time.  You can pretty safely assume the 2024 Ranger Raptor will be similar to the global Raptor model that Ford revealed in February, at least externally. A possible exception: The global Ranger offered three engine options, all diesel, and experts are skeptical that a diesel version of the Ranger will be released here.

So what do we know about the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor that might give us insight into what will hit American shores sometime this year?  According to the video Ford’s Farley shared in the past, the next-gen Ranger Raptor is the most powerful Ranger Ford’s ever built.  The global version has a twin-turbocharged V6 EcoBoost Engine, that’s paired with a 10-speed automatic and has an anti-lag system to complement the power.  The Raptor is also equipped with 2.5 inch live valve internal bypass shock absorbers, electronically controlled locking differentials both front and rear, and has the added feature of a Trail Control system.  You get seven drive modes and can select from four steering modes.  You can even choose from four exhaust modes and three damper settings.  Basically this Ranger is an off-roader’s dream come true.
