2020 F150 Lariat Key Features
No matter what F150 model you choose, you’re making a great decision. The F150 model family is known for its dependability and performance. When looking at the Lariat trim specifically, there are some key features that set it apart from models below it like the XLT and Xl. These include:
Engine
When you upgrade from the XLT trim to the Lariat, you get the 2.7L Ecoboost V6 Engine standard. Thanks to Ford’s port-fuel and direct-injection technology, just 2.7 liters can still deliver 325 horsepower and 400lb.-ft of torque. Plus, the Ecoboost engine allows for a couple of extra engine modes on the transmission compared to the XLT, like EcoSelect.
Transmission
The 2020 F150 Lariat comes with an electronic 10-speed transmission with multiple driving modes. These include:
- Normal
- Tow/Haul
- Snow/Wet
- EcoSelect
- Sport
Note that the Snow/Wet and the EcoSelect modes are unavailable on the lower F150 trim levels, the XL and XLT. To get these extra driving modes you have to have the Lariat trim or higher. In addition to the extra driving modes, this engine and transmission combo provides improved performance and acceleration.
Multimedia/Technology Suite
The 2020 Ford F150 Lariat comes with SYNC® 3, Ford’s cutting edge, responsive voice-activated technology. SYNC® 3 also brings the power of Apple Carplay and Android Auto into the vehicle. The Lariat comes with a 8 inch screen to display your apps and multimedia technology, as opposed to a 2.3 inch screen on the XLT and XL. This is a huge upgrade. If you want more technology and features in your truck, it is worth considering the Lariat over lower trim level models like the XLT or XL.
The 2020 Ford F150 Lariat vs F150 XLT
From the key features above, it is probably already clear that the Lariat is a huge step up from the XLT in terms of included features and available options. If you want a more comfortable and luxurious look as well as experience from your truck, it is definitely worth the upgrade to the Lariat. In addition to the bigger multimedia screen and improved engine and transmission, the Lariat also includes technology and safety features as standard that are only options on the XLT. Examples of this include Push Button Start, Blind Spot Information System with Trailer Coverage, and more, all of which are included in the Lariat. The interior is also far more luxurious than the XLT, with leather seating, power adjusted front seats, and heating and ventilated front seats. To learn more about the difference, simply come test drive both models and see for yourself how much more you get out of the Lariat than the XLT.
The 2020 Ford F150 Lariat vs F150 King Ranch
Similar to the upgrade you get from the XLT model to the Lariat, if you are looking for even more features and performance out of your F150 then the King Ranch model is an upgrade from the Lariat. When you move up to the King Ranch you get a 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 Engine which provides even more horsepower and torque. You also get some features standard on the King Ranch which are only options on the Lariat, like rain sensing wipers and the Reverse Sensing System. You also get an upgraded Bang and Olufsen sound system for improved audio in the cabin, a flow-through-center console, and genuine wood interior trim accents. If you are looking for even more performance and luxury from your truck, take the King Ranch for a spin.
