2020 Explorer Hybrid Fuel Efficiency 

The 2020 Explorer Hybrid is bringing the three-row SUV class the fuel efficiency it needs. The all-new rear-wheel-drive improves handling and towing on the Explorer and helps you save a little more at the pump. It gets an EPA estimated 27 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and a combined 28 mpg. The all-wheel drive versions get 23 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and a combination mpg of 25.

2020 Explorer Hybrid Performance

When you take the perfect mix of the 10-speed automatic transmission, the 3.3 liter V6 and a torque converter, the Explorer Hybrid can go off-road and tow up to 5,000 pounds. That is just a little under what the non-hybrid Explorers generate, which is 5,600 pounds. 

The Explorer Hybrid has a battery and electric powertrain components in it but it does not take up more space. It has the exact same passenger and cargo space as the non-hybrid versions.
