2020 Ford Escape Hybrid

2020 Ford Escape Banner

The 2020 Ford Escape received a major overhaul from previous model years. It now looks more sporty, has better interior space, and comes with additional powertrains including a hybrid option. A hybrid Escape has taken a long absence from the car scene since its last appearance in 2013.

With Ford saying goodbye to its sedans, smaller SUVs are going to appeal more to their current customers who prefer sedans over bulkier SUVs. The updated style, improved performance, and now hybrid option are sure to appeal to those who want an SUV that rates similarity in gas mileage to a sedan. Performance for the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid

First things first, the Escape Hybrid boats to be able to go at least 30 miles with EV power exclusively which means people can commute to work and back home without using gas.

The 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle inline-four gas engine and electric motor produce together an output of 200 horsepower. With the gas engine, it generates 152 lb-ft of torque. The Escape Hybrid also offers FWD and AWD unlike its competitor, RAV4 Hybrid, which has only AWD.

In the Escape models there are different drive modes you can choose from. The Normal drive mode, which will be used the majority of the time, has a good response and is refined coming from the engine and transmission. The Eco mode, which is great for those who want to save on gas, is not as quick. However, for those looking to save gas money this will probably be not that big of a deal since the mpg will be better in this mode.

Technology for the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid

Ford improved on the fuel efficiency, the overall design, and the technology featured in the 2020 Escape. You can enjoy features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and navigation with the support from Ford’s user-friendly Sync 3. All are displayed on the 8-inch touchscreen that comes standard on the SE trim and up.

Safety Features in the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid

Being safe in your Escape Hybrid is so important, and that is why it comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360. Ford Co-Pilot360 is a suite of driver assistance components that are designed to help you stay safer on the road. Some of the safety features included are pre-collision detection with automatic emergency braking and lane keeping assistance.
